What is GTT

Can someone point me to external resources to learn more about "What is GTT" , is the this similar to Zerodha GTT (Good Till Trigger) order ??
I followed the documentation here https://smartapi.angelbroking.com/docs/Gtt but this does not explain the basics for GTT, why should one use this API
I would really appreciate if someone can shred some light on GTT

GTT order:
1)GTT in SmartAPI means the facility offereD to apply Good Till Triggered orders for buy or sell transactions.
2)GTT is available for both buy and sell orders and can be canceled at any time.
3)The GTT feature is very helpful for traders who are unable to constantly monitor their stock market investments.
Such traders can set a price for their stock under GTT that will get automatically executed when the price is reached. -
