Request Rejected – need 98.88.173.81 whitelisted for SmartAPI app
-
Hi Angel One team,
I’m trying to authenticate and fetch market data via the SmartAPI endpoints from my backend server, but every request receives a “Request Rejected” HTML page with support IDs like 12635002845943815846 (latest attempt at 20 Nov 2025 08:06 GMT). The request is definitely coming from our AWS EC2 instance at IP 98.88.173.81.
Details:
• SmartAPI App Name: skyspear
• API Key: (LsJ9kt3J – please verify)
• Primary Static IP configured in the portal: 98.88.173.81
• Secondary IP: none
• Request URL: https://apiconnect.angelbroking.com/rest/auth/angelbroking/user/v1/loginByMpin
• Headers included: X-ClientPublicIP = 98.88.173.81, X-ClientLocalIP = 172.31.xx.xx, X-MACAddress = 0a:48:96:89:85:a4
• TOTP is generated freshly for each request; MPIN and client ID are correct.Could you please verify that IP 98.88.173.81 is actually whitelisted for this API key? If not, please add/refresh the whitelist entry. If there’s any mismatch on your side (e.g., the request is still seen from a different IP), let me know so I can adjust the configuration.
Thanks for the help!
